Since 1991, MILLER has stood for technological progress, engineering skill and high-performance tools for drilling and milling. Integration into the MAPAL Group represents a major milestone in the company’s history. It guarantees customers and employees alike the security and stability of a global corporate group and ensures sustainable investment. 

Over the decades, we have thus evolved into a leading manufacturer of precision tools and an important technology partner for prestigious customers in trade and industry.

 

Timeline

1991 MILLER is established as a workshop for drilling tools in Altenstadt. On a production area covering 200 m2, six employees make initial drilling tools from solid carbide for customers in mechanical engineering and the automotive industry.
1997 A substantial new build increases the production area to 2,200 m2 and upgrades the machine capacities significantly. The number of employees rises to 25.
2001 The continued high demand for precision tools results in a further expansion. The production area now covers more than 5,000 m2. More than 40 employees work in production and administration.
2003 Integration into the international MAPAL Group. As the MAPAL Group’s Centre of Competence for Solid Carbide Tools, MILLER is responsible for development and manufacturing worldwide in this product area. In addition, MILLER continues to supply existing customers.
2008 Expanding the production area to more than 10,000 m2, reforming internal quality control and building a state-of-the-art logistics centre make MILLER’s production site one of the most modern plants for solid carbide tools in Europe. Investing in the latest production technologies and increasing the workforce to more than 220 employees lift MILLER’s performance and capacity for innovation to a new level.
2011 Together with the MAPAL centres of competence BECK and WTE, MILLER steps up its support for domestic and international trading partners.
2014 Due to continuous growth and the positive market situation, further major investments in manufacturing technology and personnel are made. MILLER now employs more than 440 highly qualified staff.
2016 Development and expansion of a global regrinding service for solid carbide tools. The company’s 25th anniversary is celebrated in style.
2017 Inauguration and occupation of a new administrative building.
2018 Ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of a new production hall covering around 5,000 m2. The new hall is put into operation in the first quarter of 2020, bringing the total production area to 15,000 sqm.
2021 Inauguration and occupation of the new production hall.
